Two postdocs and two PhDs at UC San Diego and Cardiff University (UK)

Applications are sought for one Post-Doctoral Researcher at University of California, San Diego (USA) and one Post-Doctoral Researcher at Cardiff University (UK) and two PhDs (Cardiff) to join a very active cross-continental M2DO research lab. The primary research focus is to develop topology optimization for multiscale and multiphysics problems optimizing materials and structures. The research members are required to travel between US and UK regardless of their bases.
Research experience in the following areas are required.

  • Topology optimization
  • Level set method
  • Sensitivity analysis

And experience in one or two of the following areas is favourable.

  • Homogenisation and multiscale modelling and optimization
  • Coupled thermomechanical modelling
  • OOP software development (C++) in finite element method or optimization
  • Large scale scientific computing and parallel computing

Good team working skills and collaborative experience are essential. More information about the current research activities of the lab can be found http://m2do.ucsd.edu
Applications will be reviewed immediately and will continue until the positions are filled. If interested, postdoc applications for Cardiff University need to be made at http://krb-sjobs.brassring.com/TGWEbHost/jobdetails.aspx?partnerid=30011....
Postdoc applications based in UC San Diego can be applied by emailing (1) CV with publications list (2) one representative and most relevant paper (3) names and contacts for three referees to Dr H Alicia Kim (alicia@ucsd.edu) with the subject: M2DO postdoc.
