Postdoctoral in Multiphase Flow Modelling
Indian Institute of Science, India
Deadline: Monday, August 31, 2015
Brief outline of the job to be carried out under this project
•Modifying and combining the existing turbulent gas, fines and liquid flow models/codes with existing DEM model/code for particle. Developing heat transfer model/code for a packed bed and combining it with the above mentioned computer codes. •May involve parallelization of the computer codes. • Assisting/performing experiments to validate the findings. • May assist in supervising postgraduate students.
Duration: 3 years
Essential Qualification
Ph.D. in Chemical, Metallurgy, Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, Physics and related areas. A good working experience in the field of Computational Fluid Dynamics including a sound knowledge of numerical techniques is essential. Experience of programming in FORTRAN / C is also essential.
Desirable
Knowledge of Discrete Element Method (DEM) including coupling of Eulerian-Lagrangian based models would be desirable but not essential. Experience in multiphase flow modeling including heat transfer in a moving bed would be advantageous.
Other Details
Consolidated salary would be Indian Rupees (INR) 55,000.00 (Maximum, depending up on experience) per month.
