PhD position Modelling coupled geomorphologic-biologic evolution of offshore sandwaves
University of Twente, Netherlands
Deadline: September 7, 2015
The project will provide the knowledge and tools (combined in an interactive SANDBOX) required for the design and implementation of sustainable offshore operations. Strong cooperation with end users from the private sector, government and non-governmental organizations is embedded in the project via several implementation cases where offshore operations are planned.
PhD-project Modelling coupled geomorphologic-biologic evolution of offshore sandwaves. The task of this PhD is to come up with an idealised mathematical model for sandwaves coupled with benthic organisms giving insight in dynamics of the coupled system, as well as a more complex numerical coupled model to be applied in practical cases, e.g. sandmining or the design of pipeline trajectories.
