Description
Twice a year the International Max Planck Research School for Global Biogeochemical Cycles accepts applications for PhD stipends.
The educational program of the IMPRS consists of a series of obligatory requirements, skills courses, a topical seminar and at least one elective course that is special to the student’s interests. In addition, students will be required to make a three month foreign research visit. The elective course(s) may include offerings such as special summer research schools or offerings at outside Universities and must be approved by the executive committee.
In the course of the three-year doctoral program, a minimum of 20 credit points (CP) has to be achieved as detailed in the IMPRS agreement.
Eligibility
Applications for the program are open to well-motivated and highly-qualified students from all countries. A prerequisite is a diploma or master of science degree in geophysical sciences, environmental sciences, biological sciences, physics, chemistry, computer sciences or related fields, including a corresponding thesis. Proficiency in English is required since English is the official language of the program.
