Work
The Lund Laser Centre is the largest unit in the Nordic countries within the field of lasers, optics and spectroscopy. Research is performed in a variety of fields from basic light-matter interaction to applications to environment and medicine. The Lund High-Power Laser Facility, at the division of Atomic Physics, includes several state-of-the-art laser systems, allowing us to perform advanced research in Extreme Optics and explore the response of matter to extreme intensities as well as ultrashort light pulses. The Attosecond Physics group performs world-leading research in attosecond science. Our goal is to generate controlled sequences of attosecond pulses which can be used to capture and control electron processes in matter in different forms. We are opening one PhD student on the following subject: Generation and application of attosecond pulses using a short-pulse carrier-phase stabilized laser.
Qualifications
The candidate should have a Master or Engineer degree (or equivalent) in Physics or Engineering Physics at the date of recruitment. We welcome applications from students who do not have their degree yet but will finish soon and are strongly motivated.
Interest in practical, technical and laboratory work, as well as experience with lasers is recommended.
