I wanted to reach out to you to let you know that we were very impressed with your application, particularly your unusually strong communication skills, independence and real passion for nuclear power and innovation.
Pardon me for asking a somewhat unorthodox question, but we were wondering if you would be interested in transferring your application to the Nuclear Engineering Masters of Engineering Program (M.Eng.) here at Berkeley, which is quite unlike the M.S. or any other traditional Masters degree. Similar to programs at MIT and Stanford, the Berkeley M.Eng. is an intense 9-month experience, blending deep technical education with business and entrepreneurship from Silicon Valley pioneers and high-tech leaders, venture capitalists, etc., the centerpiece being a team capstone project under the direction of one of our faculty,***, ***, or other nuclear thought leaders in the Department. Graduates of the M.Eng. have excellent prospects to join the high-tech startup and venture world immediately upon completion, or governmental service, which would be an excellent preparation to participate on the ground level in the new nuclear innovation movement. Based on your record, I think your prospects of admission would be excellent, and you would likely hear from us very soon
