    (3) Should be endorsed by the authority of the institution where the applicant is employed.
    (4) Hold at least a Master’s degree in a field relating to socio-economics, natural sciences or technology.

    Scholarship Description: The JIRCAS Visiting Research Fellowship Program aims at the promotion of international collaborative research to address various problems confronting the countries in developing regions on a global scale, including the critical situation of food production, the progression of desertification and the gradual disappearance of genetic resources. This fellowship program has two components: (1) Tsukuba-Okinawa (2) Project Site. Under the Tsukuba-Okinawa fellowship program, JIRCAS invites qualified researchers from research institutes in developing countries to carry out collaborative research for the rapid and sustainable development of agriculture, forestry and fisheries compatible with the preservation of the natural environment. This year, however, the call for applications for the former type is open only for Tsukuba. Researches will be conducted at the JIRCAS Headquarters in Tsukuba. Upon return to their home countries, the fellows are expected to play a major role in the activities of their institutes, and work towards the achievement of the fellowship program’s goals

    Scholarship Description: OFID (The OPEC Fund for International Development) is pleased to announce that qualified applicants who have obtained or are on the verge of completing their undergraduate degree and who wish to study for a Master’s degree are welcome to apply for the OFID Scholarship 2012. The OFID Scholarship will be awarded to support two students or candidates for Master’s degree studies.     -The Quota Scheme will only enroll students from institutions which have collaboration agreements with Norwegian universities or university colleges. You could also ask your home institution about whether they have any sort of collaboration with Norwegian universities / university colleges from the list of participating institutions.
    -You must come from one of the countries included in the Quota Scheme.

    The main objective of the Quota Scheme is to contribute to capacity building through education that will benefit the home country of the students when they return. The Quota Scheme is also intended to strengthen relations between Norway and the selected countries and thus contribute to internationalisation at Norwegian institutions of higher education. Most universities and university colleges in Norway participate in the Quota scheme. The institutions involved are allocated a certain number of students under the programme each year. The scheme normally includes courses at Master’s and Ph.D. level in addition to certain professional/Bachelor’s degrees. Most of the Norwegian institutions offer courses and educational programmes in English. Students usually apply for degree programmes that serve as a continuation of their studies in their home country or for courses which can be a joint part of a degree programme in their home country (joint degree or sandwich programmes).
