Salary (Grade R1): £30,619 - £38,185per annum inclusive of London Weighting
We are looking to recruit a Research Fellow to work on an industry funded project based at Brunel University London entitled: ‘Local Inertia – Understanding the impact of the distribution of inertial response’.
The project involves 2 industry partners; Elia and National Grid. The project is a collaborative UK-Belgium project and is led by Brunel University London in the UK.
Successful applicants will receive additional funding for research visits to the following collaborative partners in the UK and Belgium; National Grid and Elia.
The new appointment will be associated with the internationally recognised Brunel Institute of Power Systems (BIPS) within the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering. The newly formed College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences is one of the largest and most successful in the UK, with over 3400 undergraduates and 1500 postgraduate taught and research students. Electronic and Computer Engineering is a vibrant and successful Department within the College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences.
Applicants are expected to hold a PhD in an appropriate area and have expertise in one or more of the following areas: Power systems operation and control, power system analysis, power system stability, wide area monitoring systems, or other closely related areas. You will be a self-motivated, but highly collaborative researcher. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fluency in English and an ability to work independently are essential. Outstanding candidates without a PhD, but having directly relevant research or practical experience are also welcome to apply.
