RA Position in Wireless Communication at University of Louisville


A research assistant position with full financial support is available in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Louisville, Louisville, Kentucky. The position can start the fall of 2017 or the spring of 2018. We are looking for self-motivated and diligent students who seek to pursue a Ph.D. degree specializing in wireless communications and networking.

The ideal candidate is expected to conduct research on advanced wireless technologies and innovative wireless applications, from theoretical exploration to system implementation. Research areas include, but are not limited to:
- Physical layer of wireless communications (OFDM, MIMO, channel coding, etc.)
- Advanced wireless system design (Wi-Fi, LTE, Bluetooth, etc.)
- Cross-layer wireless network optimization
- Wireless network privacy and security (Jamming, authentication, eavesdropping, etc.)
- Innovative wireless applications (e.g., localization, tracking and detection)

Students with background in wireless communications, signal processing, computer networking, OR algorithm design are encouraged to contact Prof. Huacheng Zeng at huacheng.zeng@louisville.edu. Hands-on experience on wireless system design (e.g., GNU Radio and USRP) is a big plus but not required.
