Postdoc in data driven optimization of wireless communications

Description:
The position focuses on data analytics and machine learning applied to wireless communications supporting smart grids, smart cities, Internet of Things, etc. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in an international environment on the EC funded projects that bring together wireless communication networks, energy networks, data analytics and edge computing. The responsibilities of the position are:
- Contribute to the project activities (research, scientific dissemination, reporting, etc.)
- Coordinate/write scientific papers for dissemination in journals and at conferences
- Help advise PhD and MSc students
- Help with new project proposals

Required qualifications and selection criteria:
The applicant must hold a PhD degree or equivalent in related field (computer science, software engineering, electrical/electronics engineering, physics or mathematics) obtained no more than three years prior to the application due date; however, for example, periods of sick leave or parental leave can be deducted from the three-year period. For this position, it is required to have analytic thinking, a good track record of publications, good knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language (Python, Matlab, Javascript, C++, etc.) and good written and oral command of English language. Any prior experience with data analytics, data and signal processing, code development and communication networks as well as knowledge of embedded systems is a plus.

Employment: The default is one year full-time employment with possible extension.
