A PhD candidate is solicited in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The candidate is expected to carry out multidisciplinary research work in the Microelectronics and Sensors Research Laboratory headed by Prof. Mohammad Madani. The position is expected to be fully funded (stipend & tuition for up to four years) and are available from fall 2015, once the suitable candidate passes the university application requirements.
Students at the B.S. or M.Sc. level Electrical Engineering with background in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering are encouraged to apply. Students with degrees in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering may be required to take some leveling courses in Electrical Engineering. The accepted candidate will work on nanomaterial using sol gel technology with applications in sensors and flexible electronics. The position will remain open until filled.
The Microelectronics and Sensors Research Laboratory is equipped with complete line of instruments for thin film deposition, photolithography, and measurement systems housed in a Class-100 clean laboratory.
