چقدر امید هست؟ یعنی جوابش اینقدری ارزش داره که دوتا application fee بدم؟

ببخشید اشتباه از من بود. NST مخفف Nationaol Science Foundation هست یعنی
an independent agency of the federal government responsible for the promotion of progress in science and engineering by supporting programs in research and education

خوب قربونت برم خودت گفتي مخفف Not sufficient... هست. حالا كه گفتي چيه قضيه فرق كرد 180 درجه.
يعني 5 نفر ميتونند تامين بشن كه به اميد خدا يكيشم شمائيد.

از دوستانی که تجربشون زیاد و به نامه نگاری انگلیسی وارد هستند (مثل Countdown عزیز)، خواهشمندم که هر از گاهی اصطلاحات رایج برای جواب دادن به اساتید را در اینجا قرار بدهند. معمولا این دوستان در جواب سوالات، به ذکر جوابی خیلی کوتاه و اون هم فارسی بسنده میکنند که برای خیلیها مثل بنده که تازه شروع به نامه نگاری کردند (معمولا کسانی که سوال میکنند تجربه چندانی در ارتباط با اساتید ندارند) نوشتن انگلیسیش خیلی سخته.
با تشکر از Countdown که وقتی هم برای کمک به ایرانیان میگذاره

OKKKEY- I believe people will ask in their postings if they need to have their answers in English- for me in most posts, I try to answer in English unless I feel an English translation would not be a good proposition to resolve the problem; Sometimes I -on purpose- post my wordings in Persian when I think people-or myself-have difficulty transferring the meaning-

I suggest if people need to have an ENglish reply specially in this topic, they simply ask to do se

I'm so sorry to hear that story.

I find u very helpful in many cases such as the prof. letter which u provided for sample. It gives me the good idea to make my own. however, it's completely differet from urs. I don't think people always use the same mark which others offer. but it can be a good theme. and from ur background, i'm sure u have better idea than people like me.
so let me ask my question in this respect: how can i offer thanks to a prof. who has a satisfactory idea about my application? (i'm looking for formally common expressions)

under way which I believe you would find interesting. However,
please be aware that entry into our program is highly
competitive, and that I do not make those decisions. Also,
I do not at present have openings in my personal research
group. This might change, so if you are admitted I
encourage you to contact me to discuss research issues
when you arrive.
