من یک ایمیل دریافت کردم از یکی از اساتید دانشگاه های خوب آمریکا در زمینه مهندسی کامپیوتر با این محتوا:

حالا چندتا سئوال از دوستان باتجربه دارم که ممنون میشم جواب بدید:

1- من آیلتس 7 آوردم، ولی دپارتمان اینا زده مینیمم 7.5 باید باشه آیلتس!! من رزومم برای این استاد فرستاده بودم و توش هم نمره آیلتسم بود. بنظر شما با یک نمره کمتر هم میشه قبول شد؟ یا باید دوباره آیلتس بدم؟ آیا باید از استاد این بپرسم که مطمئن بشم؟

2- من هنوز GRE امتحان ندادم، و قصد داشتم که اواسط مهر امتحان بدم که خوب بخونم. به نظر شما با این اوضاع هر چه زودتر امتحان بدم بهتره یا همون هر چه بیشتر بخونم؟ مینینمم GRE این دانشگاه (Q: 156, V: 154, AW: 4.5). وربال و رایتینگش یک خورده اذیت کنندست.

3- به نظر شما اگر از ایشون درخواست کنم که باهاشون درباره پروژه در ارتباط باشم، فکر خوبیه (واسه اینکه جام محکم باشه )؟ البته حتما باعث میشه یک خورده از وقت مطالعم برای GRE کم بشه.

۱. اول بررسی کنید از تجربیات سایر کسانی که برای این دپارتمان و این دانشگاه اقدام کردن که سخت‌گیری‌ها در مورد حداقل‌ها در چه حده. صد البته به همین اکتفا نکنید. نظر استاد رو جویا بشید قابلیت اطمینان بالاتری خواهد داشت.
۲. نیازی به زود امتحان دادن نیست. کاملاً طبیعیه در این زمان شما امتحان نداده باشید و با علم به همین مسئله استاد شما رو ترغیب به اپلای کرده. شما به نمره‌ی GRE در زمان اپلای کردن نیاز داری و برای همون هم برنامه‌ریزی کن. اگه هم در ادامه‌ی مکاتبات سؤالی در این مورد پرسیده شد، پاسخ بدید که در حال آماده‌سازی برای امتحان هستید و قبل از Deadline (یا اگه تاریخش مشخصه تاریخ رو بگید) امتحان خواهید داد.
۳. بله به این شکل علاقه و انگیزه‌ی شما بیشتر نشون داده می‌شه و قطعاً تأثیر مثبت داره. به نظرم پیشنهاد دادن اولیه ضرری نداره. اگه کار خاصی ازتون خواستن که خیلی زمانتون رو می‌گرفت توضیح بدید برای GRE دارید آماده می‌شید و انجام دادنش ممکنه یه کم زمان ببره (نه این که بگید انجام نمی‌دم).

2. آخه اپلیکیشن ها از اول اکتبر باز میشه اگر اشتباه نکنم. من با خودم گفتم اگر که من بیام اواخر مهر امتحان بدم، احتمالا نمره بهتری خواهم گرفت تا اینکه اواخر شهریور امتحان بدم. از طرفی، امکان داره بعضی ها زودتر اپلای کنند (مثل اینایی که تو صف واستادن) و امکان داره موقعیت بگیرن !!

۱. از خود استاد بپرس. اگه در محدوده اختیارات خودش باشه که جوابت رو به شکل قطعی می‌ده. اگه هم نیاز باشه تو رو به آدم مربوطه ارجاع می‌کنه.
جای نگرانی نیست. نمره‌ات به اندازه کافی نزدیک به چیزی که می‌خوان هست.

۲. ببین تا جایی که من می‌دونم، معمولا اپلیکیشن‌ها بعد از ددلاین بررسی می‌شن، مگر اینکه خود دانشگاه در سایتش اعلام کرده باشه. بنابراین نیازی به تعجیل وجود نداره.
امتحان رو یه مقدار زود دادن می‌تونه این خوبی رو داشته باشه که اگه خدایی نکرده نمره دلخواهت رو کسب نکردی، یه شانس دیگه برای امتحان دادن قبل ددلاین‌های امسال داری.

این چرا خواسته 4 ماه زودتر برم و با این شرایط آیا فاندی برای اون موقع میتونه بده به نظرتون؟

This includes the development, experimentation and field validation of MS and PhD level innovations that get incorporated into real robotic missions. Our current missions include controlling several on-orbit spacecraft (we provide mission control services for several NASA satellites) and performing a series of bathymetric mapping, environmental monitoring, and marine intervention missions with our underwater robots and autonomous surface craft. My primary areas of research are in multi-robot control systems and also in advanced model-based techniques for fault diagnosis / anomaly management algorithms and systems. We also develop innovative designs ranging from fault tolerant actuators to complete automated robotic systems.

I have a number of funded research assistants working in my lab. In addition, a number of other students work as researchers in the lab but are funded through alternate strategies (as teaching assistants, through corporate sponsorship, using their own money, etc.). In general, I only directly fund students with whom I've had a positive working relationship through prior activities, such as coursework or work on a a project in the lab. I do not fund students with whom I have not yet collaborated. It is possible, however, for you to be a researcher in the lab if you arrange for your own funding; over time, you may then be able to earn a funded research assistantship. I note that, although my primary appointment is in the Mechanical Engineering Department, I am able to advise graduate students in mechanical, electrical, computer and bio-engineering.

If you are sincerely interested in graduate studies, then I encourage you to formally apply and to state your interest in teaching and/or research assistantship support. You apply through the web site - I do not review PhD applications nor do I review applicant info to assess if they might be admitted. Selection of departmental teaching assistants is made by our Department Chairman, typically every Spring for the next academic year. Selections have already been made for the 2016-2017 academic year (although sometimes position open up as TAs graduate are get recruited as RAs). Selections for the 2017-18 year will be made in the spring of 2017 - again, you must coordinate any application for a TA position with the department chairman. The university does not grant tuition waivers. Many of my research students start off their degrees as a teaching assistant in order to obtain the financial resources required for graduate studies.

7.5. I wanted to know, is IELTS 7 fine for admission?

2- I would like to ask you if we could discuss the topic of the PhD in

سلام دوستان من امروز این ایمیل و دریافت کردم، حالا میخوام بدونم منظور دقیق این استاد چی هستش، اینکه حتمن باید از یه ارگان رسمی فاند داشته باشم گه پذیرش بده به من، یا اینکه صرفا من اگه خودم از پس شهریه و هزینه های شخصی بر بیام به من پذیرش میده؟

دوستان من رزومه ی خیلی خاصی ندارم . امروز 2 تا ایمیل از اساتید آمریکایی که زمینه ی تحقیقاتشون شبیه من بود (با رنک زیر 20) دریافت کردم و به من گفتن تو رو تشویق به اپلای میکنیم و هر وقت اپلای کردی به ما خبر بده.
من نه تافل دارم و نه GRE ( سطح زبانم بد نیست)
به نظر شما رو حرف این استادا چقدر میشه حساب باز کرد و آیا این ارزشش رو داره که به خاطر این ایمیل بشینم GRE و تافل بدم؟
