سلام به همه دوستان
من این جواب رو از یکی از اساتید کانادا گرفتم
Dear Mojtaba, Thank you for your interest in my group. Your resume looks very strong for acceptance to the Chemistry Department. The formal admission process is to apply to the department directly for the Masters or PhD programs in Chemistry . Once the applicant has fulfilled all the requisites, they might be interviewed by the faculty specified in the application package. Once the faculty have identified a good match between the interests of the researcher and the student they can offer admission. I encourage you to apply to the department and if you are interested in working with me, specify this in your application. Best regards,

این یکی چطوره؟!!!
Thank you for your interest in my research program. I am a bit confused because the research focus of my team is the synthesis, characterization and application of nanomaterials. While we spend much time characterizing our materials, we are not an analytical chemistry research lab as you indicate. The techniques we typically use include electron microscopy, X-ray spectroscopy, optical and vibrational spectroscopy and diffraction techniques. I have also contacted my research group to query who you contacted and no one in my group recalls you contacting them.
I do have a new student in my group from Iran and if you are still interested in my research program I can certainly put you into contact with appropriate members of my team depending on the projects you are interested in.
I also should bring to your attention that the protocols for applying to our department for graduate studies are outlined on our department website. I encourage you to visit the following link and follow the instructions for international students.

I am flattered by your interest in my group's research, especially as we've had many strong students join us from Iran in recent years. However, our department policy is that students are not accepted into a particular group, but rather are admitted into the department. The reason for this is that the research programs at the University are so dynamic that it is not possible for a prospective student to grasp all of the possible projects. Thus, to ensure that you have time to fully grasp the possible opportunities, admitted students come in un-assigned to any supervisor. Only after they have been on campus for two months (during which they talk to many faculty and students) are students allowed to join a group.
For instance, you have a great deal of experience in electrochemistry and nanomaterials. My colleagues are masters of these fields. Likewise, Jed is one of the inventors of the field of microfluidics and is now integration nanotechnology into his devices. Chris uses nanoparticles and kim to make some exquisitely sensitive methods. And I can think of numerous other projects within the department that you'd be interested in.
Anyways, I believe this example illustrates the importance of having the opportunity to speak to professors and their students prior to joining a group. I assure you that there is an abundance of fascinating analytical projects here . I hope to have the opportunity to discuss the opportunities in my lab next fall.
