سلام . دوستان من امروز به یه استاد تو penn state اولین ایمیلم رو زدم یک ساعت بعد (یعنی همین الان) جواب داد مبنی بر اینکه:

تو ايميل ابراز علاقه به پروژه ي خاصي كرديد؟ مقاله ها رو خونديد؟ بهتون آدرس دادند ببينيد كارتون با هم روي يك زمينه ي خاصه يا خير. از فاند پرسيده بوديد؟ اگر همه چيز رو پرسيديد اين رو دادند دوباره بپرسيد غير از پوزيشن شرايط فاند دادن به شما رو با توجه به رزومه اتون دارند يا خير. ببينيد ميگن اپلاي كنيد . شادزي

راستش دوست خوبم
اونجا نياز به سر صحبت باز كردن به اون صورتي كه تو ايران نيازه نيست. اگر دنيال ايني ببيني پوزيشن داره راحت يك ايميل همراه رزومه بزن و اينو مستقيم بپرس. اينطوري شايد اگر بگه نه نياز به همكاريهاي آتي هم حس نكني. چون شما به هدف خاصي داري اينكار رو ميكني. شايدم واقعا ميخواي با ايشون كار كني چه با پوزيشن چه بدون پوريشن. اگر كه موردت اينه كه فعلا كار رو شروع كن بعدا بپرس. البته براي كي داري اقدام ميكني هم مهمه. اين نظر منه البته.شادزي

ما قرار بود روی یک مقاله کار کنیم و این اییمل برای عذر خواهی است. چون به دلایلی نمیشه ولی میخام واسه کارای اتی داشته باشمش. در مورد این فرد به خصوص فعلا در حد کار مشترک بود یک مقاله.

حقيقتش رو بخوام بگم بايد خيلي تاپ باشيد . البته استثنا ديدم كه اونا از نظر من استثنا نبودن مثلا يكي بود خيلي تاپ نبود ولي بسيار روابط عمومي بالايي داشت و در چند بار تلفن كردن استاد رو متقاعد كرده بود ولي در حالت كلي رزومه خيلي عالي باشه استاد بي خيال شما نميشه. موردي هم بوده وعده دادن به فاند و نزديك اپلاي جواب ايميل اين دوست رو ندادن چون بهتري رو پيدا كردن. من ميگم خيلي به وروديهاي زيادي بستگي داره اين سيستم غير خطي شما و پيش بيني خروجي سخته. شما تلاش كن و اميدوار باش. شادزي

That doesn't mean we expect people to be experts already -- that's what the program tries to teach, but applicants should have read enough or had enough experience to understand what xxxxxxxxxxx is, what it can, and can't, do.


- Know what they seek to do after getting a Ph.D., and why a doctorate is needed to reach those goals. Learning is great for its own sake, but a doctoral program is a substantial commitment of time and opportunity cost, and there are other ways to learn. A Ph.D. isn't an end in itself but a way station on the journey to your goals. Is a Ph.D. really needed for those goals? Most, though not all, applicants aspire to academic careers where a Ph.D. is required. But in all cases the admissions committee should be able to see why a Ph.D. is the right step for you.


- Are able to articulate the issues that excite them and why those issues are amenable to scholarly research. There are many important problems that aren't researchable; there are many researchable problems that just aren't interesting or worthy. We look for people able to articulate interesting, important problems where research can make a difference.

I dont know what you asked in your email, but if you didnt directly address these issues, it should be template. Af if you did, it just help you to find this place is good for you or not. Nothing about your chance for getting admission or even encouraging for apply.
You should compete with other applicants, so it means there is no difference between you and others. If you meet their criteria and are interested in their work, you can apply
