Getting better on speaking in the long term:
Let me give you an example. Consider you are studying a book and you come across the sentence "I'll get back as quick as I can." You may say this is grammatically wrong (using 'quick' instead of 'quickly'), however it is a very common sentence in everyday English. Now the best thing to do is to use your imagination. As for me I imagine a situation where me and my brother are leaving the house, suddenly I remember I've forgot to bring my wallet with me; I go back; and my brother wonders what I am doing so I might say "You carry on and get the car ready, I'll catch up with you as quick as I can". This way you may never forget the sentence again unless you use it a couple of times.
I have tried a lot of methods, undoubtedly this is the most efficient way I have ever come across especially when you use it in real-time conversations with people. Off course the time it requires for every person may be different. It is only you who can estimates how many times your mind takes to learn a new expression/idiom/phrase.
