Welcome at Technische Universität Ilmenau.

We are happy that you are interested in our university and will like to welcome you at Ilmenau.

TU Ilmenau offers Master programs corresponding to the own bachelor courses (konsekutive Master- Studiengänge) and programs those curriculum is more independent from a fixed bachelor's. These programs are called non consecutive programs. Acceptance for a master course can be given, if all preconditions (content and volume of the bachelor's and language) are fulfilled. Please apply with a full set of papers.

In case your academic degree does not correspond to our bachelor's degree completely or the volume of your graduation is not as large as the volume of our bachelor's demanded as entrance qualification (210 or 180 ECTS respectively), admission can be given with additional obligations. The standard period of the master program can be extended individually.

TU Ilmenau itself does not give any financial support for master students. The web- sites of DAAD contain a database with possible donors, organisations where you can apply .

Most of our programmes are taught in German. That's why you must learn German language before you can enter one of those programs. TU Ilmenau does accept DSH-2 or TestDaF 4x4 as sufficiant precondition for enrolement.

The master courses "Media and Communication Research", "Communications and Signal Processing" and "Research in Computer Science" have started in October 2008. They are taught in English. Please prove your language skills in English for these programs with TOEFL (paper based) more than 550, TOEFL (computer based) more than 213, TOEFL (internet based) more than 79, IELTS more 6.0, respectively. THe confirmation about an English taugh Bachelor's program alone does not meet the condition for inscription into the English taught masters. If you could not pass a standarized language exam use out offer of TOEFL. If you could not pass, during Academic Preparation Course even English language courses can be booked. Please understand that , nevertheless, basic German knowledge is asked for the daily life in Germany.

Please pay attention, most of our degree courses are so called "konsekutive Masterstudiengänge" where the masterprogram is fitted to a defined undergraduate program. Admission to such master programs can be given only, if the coincidence of your graduation program to the program on which the master's is based is high enough. Your admission for master courses is decided by the examination council of the faculty, into wich you would be matriculated. Please notice that a longer delay is needed. Application for the winter term should reach us before March 31st, before September 30th for the summer term. We will accept applications continiously but the given dates mark the date of viability to get both, acceptance letter and visa.

If you attach a filled form "Antrag auf Anerkennung von Studienleistungen aus einem Studium an einer anderen Hochschule" the process of comparison of the content of your studies and the program at Technische Universität Ilmenau can be acceleated.

We do not accept students for German Diplom-Studiengänge no more, neither for undergraduate studies nor for admission to higher semesters.

The Technische Universität Ilmenau academic preparatory courses, including language preparation, as well. The entrance level for those courses is ZD (Zertifikat Deutsch) wich corresponds to about 500 lessons. Finally, there will be a possibility to pass the exam Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang. The language courses are charged with fees, 530 EUR per semester (300 hours), actually.

Please submit to us all of your application data, so that we can examine your transcription in order to determine wether you would be allowed to study at our university, and if so, what special obligations you might be subject to. You will find, enclosed with this letter, necessary forms.
Please apply with the following documents as officially verified copies:
- Completely filled out application form, original
- Certified copy of your last transcripts including credits earned and the corresponding summary of courses (Diploma Supplement)
- Proof of sufficient knowledge of the German language, to be able to pass the obligatory DSH, the German language exam required entrance into a German University within one year. For that purpose, the transcription and summary of classes pertaining to your secondary school diploma can be necessary, even if you possibly have already earned a university diploma.
- English language certificate for English taught programs

TU Ilmenau does not paticipate in ASSIST but since 2011-02-01 TU Ilmenau charges the evaluation of foreign certificates with a fee of € 25,00. Please transfer this amount to the account of TU Ilmenau. Pay attention that your bank may cut the transfer in height of their own fees! As soon as the money will have been registered at the account of TU Ilmenau we will start the proceeding of your candidature.

سلام و با تشکر از اطلاع رسانیتون من این دانشگاه رو در لیست دانشگاه های مورد تایید وزارت علوم سرچ کردم و نتیجه ای رو در بر نداشت . برای من مشکل ساز نیست؟در ضمن برای رشته ی من که گرایش قدرت مهندسی برق هستم این دانشگاه دپارتمان قوی ای داره؟ ممنون
