We seek a motivated postdoctoral researcher to join the research group of Prof. Gedeon working on new approaches to modeling the dynamics of networks in biology. We are closely collaborating with the research group of Prof. Mischaikow (Rutgers University), Prof. Harer (Duke, Mathematics) and Prof. Haase (Duke, Biology).

Our approach characterizes the coarse dynamics of a network across all of parameter space, allowing us to reject models that do not exhibit the observed dynamics of the experimental system, and to suggest potential regulatory networks that can be verified or discarded via further biological experimentation. Our current projects include work on malaria and check point regulation in cancer.

The successful candidate will have a solid background in dynamical systems, very good computational skills (Matlab, Python, C++) and interest in working on cutting edge problems in the intersection of mathematics and cell biology.

The position is for one year with a possibility of extension for 3 years.
If interested, please send 3 letters of recommendation and CV to Tomas Gedeon gedeon@math.montana.edu
