    Russian Government Undergrad, Grad and Phd Scholarships

    In order to assist foreign countries in training national employees, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation allocates public scholarships for the academic year 2012/2013 to allow foreign citizens and Russians living abroad to study at federal state higher professional education institutions at the expense of federal budget allocations in bachelor, specialist, master degree and post-graduate programs as well as additional professional education programs (internship or professional development).


    Scholarship

    • For enrollment into bachelor or specialist degree programs a document on education needs to be provided that is recognized in the Russian Federation as state document on secondary (full) general education or on secondary vocational education.
    • For enrollment into master degree programs a document needs to be provided that is recognized in the Russian Federation as a bachelor diploma (at least 4 years of study) or a specialist diploma (at least 5 years of study).
    • Foreign students enrolled at higher educational institutions are provided with a monthly scholarship and a dormitory accommodation on the same conditions as the Russian students.

    Eligibility
    Applicants must meet the following conditions:

    • Undergraduate


    1. Minimun Mean Grade of B (plain).
    2. Not more than 23 years of age.
    3. Strong grades on the major subjects that are key to the specialty preferred
    4. Completed Secondary Education in the last three (3) years.
    5. Have an original certificate


    • Post Graduate


    1. Are serving the country in the public sector.
    2. Completed two (2) years of continuous public service since their last degree studies.
    3. Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree of at least Upper Second class honors level.
    4. The masters and PhD scholarships are only suitable for former Russia graduates and those who speak Russian language.
    5. PhD, applicants must have a relevant Master’s Degree.
    6. Are below 35 years for Masters and 45 years for PhD

    Language

    • For candidates who do not speak Russian language courses of up to year are organized at the preparatory faculty (department).

    Deadline

    • The candidates’ sets of documents are sent by the sending party to the Department for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation by May 15, 2012 with an official cover letter of the national ministry or Russian embassy and the list of candidates.

    Confusion Alert – no not really but you will need to be patient when researching this scholarship but it is well worth your time and energy as it has great benefits. I have listed some information about the scholarship below but please read all the way to the end where I give some next steps that will help you through the process. Samuel


    About Denmark

    Scholarship Info
    Danish higher education institutions receive a limited number of government scholarships each year to fund highly qualified full-degree students from non-EU/EEA countries and Switzerland.
    In order to be eligible for a scholarship you must be:

    • a citizen of a country outside the EU, the European Economic Area or Switzerland
    • enrolled in a full degree higher education program
    • granted a time-limited residence permit in Denmark due to education

    You are not eligible for a Danish government scholarship if you are:

    • seeking admission to a university level institution of arts, design and architecture
    • have a legal claim to the rights of Danish citizens
    • have been granted a residence permit at the time of admission by the Danish Aliens Consolidations Act §9c, subsection 1, as the child of a foreign citizen who has been granted a residence permit in accordance with the Danish Aliens Consolidations Act §9a, and who is a citizen of a country that is not acceded to the EU or covered by the EEA agreement
    • a student who is eligible for a grant in accordance with Danish Law regarding the State Education Fund

    The scholarships are administered by the Danish higher education institutions, each of which decides which students will receive a scholarship. For further information about the government scholarship, please consult the admission details of the higher education institution of your choice.


    • Please note: The government scholarship consists of two parts and can be given as full or partial tuition fee waivers and/or grants towards covering your living costs. However, as the scholarships are administered by the individual higher education institution, you should ask for further details at the institution of your choice.

    International Student Scholarship

    Australian Catholic University


    1. Up to 25 International Student Scholarships will be available to commencing undergraduate or postgraduate international students each year, consisting of –
      1. 2 scholarships equivalent to the full-time fees for the recipient’s course of study; and
      2. 20 scholarships equivalent to one-half of the full-time fees for the recipient’s course of study.

    2. Each scholarship will be awarded for the duration of the recipient’s course, subject to satisfactory academic progress.
    3. Applicants must –
      1. be a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand;
      2. have gained and formally accepted a place in an undergraduate or postgraduate program at Australian Catholic University (ACU);
      3. attend at the relevant ACU campus as a full-time student;
      4. not be in receipt of another major scholarship or award;
      5. not be attending ACU as a Study Abroad or Exchange student.

    4. Applications should include –
      1. details of the applicant’s course of study at ACU;
      2. evidence of academic merit includ ing achievement of an average of at least 80% across the applicant’s secondary study (for undergraduate students) or undergraduate study (for postgraduate students), whether at ACU or elsewhere.

    5. The International Student Scholarships may be awarded each year on the recommendation of a Selection Committee consisting of the Dean, Internationalisation, the Dean of each Faculty, the Dean of Graduate Studies and the Manager, International Education Office.
    6. In considering applications, in addition to the eligibility and selection criteria, the Selection Committee may give consideration to
      1. the diversity of the source countries of applicants and of the courses in which they are enrolled (including across a spread of undergraduate and postgraduate coursework and research programs and campuses); and
      2. in the case of applicants undertaking research degrees, the alignment of the applicant’s intended research with the research strengths of the University.

    Applications for 2012 open 1 September 2011




    1. For students in undergraduate or postgraduate coursework programs, the International Student Scholarship relieves the recipient from payment of the whole or half of the course fees, according to the scholarship awarded. It does not provide a living allowance.For students in research programswho are also in receipt of an Australian government-funded tuition fee scholarship, the scholarship provides a living allowance of equivalent value to that of an APA stipend in the case of a full scholarship.For all recipients, the scholarship does not cover visa application costs, Overseas Student Health Cover, air fares, accommodation, excursions, text or reference books, conferences or other costs the student may incur in pursuing his/her course or in travelling to or from Australia and the campus at which he/she is studying.
    2. Half International Student Scholarship are only available to students in undergraduate or postgraduate coursework programs, and are not available to students undertaking research programs.
    3. Any scholarship or award the value of which, in combination with the value of the ACU International Student Scholarship, exceeds the tuition fee for the full ACU course to which the student is admitted.
    4. Year 12 equivalent results.

    About



    The Lund University Global Scholarship program is targeted at top academic students from countries outside the European Union/European Economic Area (and Switzerland).
    Scholarships cover 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% of the tuition fees. The scholarship value is deducted from the tuition fees of the program or free-standing course for which you are awarded a scholarship. Please note that the Lund University Global Scholarships do not cover living costs.
    Who is eligible?
    Citizens of countries outside the European Union/European Economic Area (and Switzerland) who have applied for Bachelor’s or Master’s level studies at Lund University for a minimum of one semester of study (the equivalent of 30 ECTS full-time study) and who are required to pay tuition fees.
    This scholarship program is not open for students from the following 12 countries:

    • Bangladesh, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.
    • Students from these countries should apply for the Swedish Institute Study Scholarship. .

    Please note that currently this scholarship program is not open to students who have already started the program or course for which they would like a scholarship to help cover tuition fees.

    When and how to apply
    The application period is now open and will be available until 16 January 2012.

    To apply for a Lund University Global Scholarship – FOLLOW THESE STEPS

    1. CHOOSE the program(s) or free-standing course(s) you wish to study at Lund University
    2. APPLY using the online, national application website, www.universityadmissions.se, during the application time for autumn semester studies.
    3. THEN APPLY for a Lund University Global Scholarship using our online application form (the online form is published when the application period is open).
    4. SEND – Once you have completed the online scholarship application, you post a printed and signed copy of the completed application form, your CV and scholarship motivation letter together with your program/course application supporting documents. These are posted in the single envelope to University Studies in Sweden.

    You can only apply for one scholarship per program or free-standing course. If you are applying for more than one program or free-standing course at Lund University, you must make a separate scholarship application for each program/course to which you have applied.
    Selection process
    The selection process for scholarships is undertaken in parallel with the program/course selection process. Priority will be given to students with high academic performance and who demonstrate a strong commitment and desire to study at Lund University.

Recipients will be selected on the basis of academic achievement on courses taken in the full IB program.

    International Advanced Placement Scholarship
