University Assistant (prae doc)
at the Department of Food Chemistry and Toxicology
is vacant.

The department of Food Chemistry and Toxikology investigates the biofunctionality of food constituents and related natural compounds. In the focus are potentially desired cellular effects e.g. chemopreventive and antioxidative properties as well as undesired toxicological effects.
Degree of Employment: 30 hours/week
Occupation group in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 Grundstufe (praedoc)
On top of this relevant chargeable work experience determines the assessment to a particular salary grade.
Areas of work:
Studies on the bioactivity of food safety of selected polyphenol-rich food preparations in vitro and in vivo (human intervention studies) with special emphasis on epigenetic factors (e.g. microRNA) and the relevance of genetic polymorphisms.
Extended duties include holding independent courses as agreed upon in the collective contract of the University.
Profile:
A degree in food chemistry or comparable curricula with profound knowledge in the field of food toxicology.
Experience with biochemical and molecular biological methods, including working with cell culture is desired. Very good knowledge of written and spoken English, Experience of publishing scientific papers is desireable.
