دوستان یه سؤال دارم. یه دانشگاه فقط personal statement خواسته. به نظرتون کار درستیه اگه همون sop که نوشتمو با تیتر personal statement بفرستم؟ مرسی

دوستان این دقیقا سوال من هم هست. کسی میتونه راهنمائی بکنه؟

sample written work میتونه یکی از مقاله‌های شما به زبان انگلیسی، بخشی از پایان‌نامۀ شما به زبان انگلیسی، و یا قسمتی از مقالۀ منتشر نشدۀ شما باشه، به طوری که قابلیت عمومی شما رو در نوشتن متون تخصصی رشتۀ خودتون مشخص کنه. اگر می‌خواهید که روی موضوعی در آینده کار کنید که قبلاً هم کار کردید، بهتره که این سمپل در همون موضوع باشه تا نشون بده که شما با ادبیات اون موضوع آشنایی کافی دارید.

A Personal History Statement

Graduate school applicants can distinguish themselves with their personal history statements

Applying to graduate school can be a stressful process for students. It can be difficult to know exactly what the admissions committee is looking for and to tailor your application to their demands. However, one way that potential candidates for graduate schools can distinguish themselves is through their personal history statements. In these statements, students describe their backgrounds and talents and thus paint a picture of themselves for the admissions committee. Here are several important components of a personal history statement for graduate school.


1.Narrative
Applicants should treat their personal history statements as a story--that is, to link all of the information they provide into one overall narrative. How did your early education (elementary school, high school) affect your choice of a college and the path
you chose to take there? Was there a particular person (a teacher, a relative who affected your decisions? How has your cultural background played a role in your research interests and pursuits? By making your life into a story and inding the unifying themes, you make it easier for the admissions committee to see you as a potentially valuable member of their community.

Skills and Talents
Similarly, how has your background affected the skills and talents you have naturally and those that you have
chosen to develop? What extracurricular activities did you pursue in college and how did those work together with your academic pursuits to create the person that you are today? Make sure to put these skills and talents within the
context of the larger narrative; it's not important that you're a champion ping-pong player unless you can make the argument that this has been meaningful to your academic or personal background.


Interests and Program-Specific Information
o Make sure to put your personal narrative in the context of the school's programs. After all, the admissions
committee has to be convinced that this program makes sense for you personally, as well as for the academic community at their school. Discuss the elements of the program that contribute to areas of knowledge you have already
developed; if there is an aspect of the program that addresses something you haven't yet studied in detail, emphasize why you are interested in pursuing it based on your past interests and current skills.


Future
Finally, finish your personal history statement with information about where you'd like to be in the future and how you see the program contributing to your professional goals. Don't be too vague; you need to make the case that this particular program can help you get to where you want to be. Conversely, don't be too specific; if you want to be in a tenure-track position at Harvard University in a particular department within the next five years, the committee might doubt your understanding of how
the hiring process works. Try to strike a balance, again putting your future goals in the context of your past achievements

سلام ببخشید یه سوال داشتم
توی یک سایتی هست که در مورد موارد درخواستی دانشگاه های امریکا نوشته
یک مورد هست به نام Essay که در جلوی بعضی از دانشگاه ها مواردی چون required - optional - no - recommendedرو زده می خواستم بدونم منظورشون از این گزینه Essay مقاله هست از نوع داخلی یا خارجی یا چیزه دیگری هست ؟

حتما ...به نام دانشگاهی که میخاید براش بفرستید SOP رو اشاره کنید.به علاوه برا بالا بردن شانستون اسم لب یا سنتر مربوطه رو ببرید.

مرسی..میشه تفاوت این 2تا متن رو هم بگید؟ آخه هرچی میخام بنویسم مثل هم میشه..من این موضوع رو تو پیج مربوص به تفاوت sop با سایر موارد هم سوال کردم اما کسی ج نداد منم عجله دارم

نمیدونم اینها چرا اینقدر اسم های متفاوت می ذارن؟!! یکی از دانشگاها اینو میخواد:

فکر میکنم همه موارد SOP رو شامل میشه. درست میگم؟
