Dear all,
As you all may know, Operations Research School at Cornell University is a well-known program for its very famous faculty members and quality of their theoretical research. Each year, they usually have around 300 applicants and admit about 10-15 qualified PhD candidates. A few days ago, I was talking to the previous chair of PhD admission, and he asked me to encourage strong applicants to apply for OR program at Cornell. It seems that there are VERY few Iranian applicants each year and actually he was complaining about the number of Iranian applicants. If you feel you are interested in theoretical research in Operations Research, measure theory, probability and statistics, quantitative finance, optimization, financial engineering, I would recommend you to consider OR school at Cornell. Do not forget that you need to have solid background in mathematics and quantitative methods to be able to be considered as a qualified applicant. Applicants with mathematics background are well-suited in this program. Attached, please find a poster of this program.
Sincerely,
Naser Nikandish
