Clinical Neuropsychology Doctorate Degree Programs:
These programs generally last about five years. There are plenty of opportunities to get real or simulated clinical practice and experience in these doctoral programs.
Many doctorate programs have specialty options. Examples are child neuropsychology, adult neuropsychology, and developmental disorders.
Depending on your program, you learn about behaviors related to Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease and other conditions which affect the brain and behavior.
Clinical Neuropsychology Internships
These internships are generally at medical centers and hospitals. You will work with actual patients with a variety of conditions (such as stroke victims). The typical internship lasts 12 months. Programs typically provide financial assistance, as well.
Clinical Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Residency Training
After getting your doctorate in clinical neuropsychology, you can then apply for residency training positions. These are also at hospitals and medical centers, and financial assistance is usually provided. These residency programs generally last from one to two years.
