Here is the information regarding amounts of scholarships and fellowships and also the deadlines for application to university of Notre Dame. I'm a PhD student in this university; feel free to ask any questions you may have.


Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering
Degrees Offered: MSAeroE, MSME, MEME, MEng/JD, PhD
Application
Deadline, Fall:February 1

The Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Notre Dame will award approximately fifteen research fellowships to highly qualified graduate students in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering. The basic annual stipend for incoming students for 2005-06 is $19,000, although additional support is available in certain situations and the stipend levels are reviewed each year, renewable for up to five years. These fellowships also provide full university-paid tuition valued at $31,000.

For the 2006-2007 academic year, the 12-month stipend for entering students was $21,333. Several university and departmental fellowships that provide higher stipends are also available on a competitive basis.

All full-time graduate students receive a scholarship which covers all tuition costs. Financial assistance for living expenses is also typically provided for students admitted into the graduate program in the form of a stipend. Stipends are paid semimonthly and are awarded as research assistantships or research fellowships. As part of their degree requirements, all first and second year graduate students serve as teaching assistants.


Civil Engineering and Geological Sciences

During their first year, all incoming, full-time, degree-seeking graduate students receive full financial support from the Department, comprised of a combination of a tuition scholarship and a competitive stipend.

I know that MSc students have a good chance to get funding too (I know Iranian MSc students here with full funding). But unfortunately I don't have any particular info on civil engineering department and their funding.

The amount of stipend usually increses just alittle bit every year. As you know in US inflation rate is not as high as Iran.,So living costs don't change dramatically. For 2007-2008 it was 19500 for 12 months plus 34500 for tuition. and I assure you thats more than enough to live here.

Three graduate degrees are offered, the two-year Master of Architecture and the two-year Master of Architectural Design and Urbanism for those holding a four-year pre-professional degree or a five-year professional degree in architecture, and the new three-year Master of Architecture program open to persons holding undergraduate degrees in fields other than architecture.

سلام .من GRE بهمن رو از دست دادم و اولین زمان بعدی آبان 87 خواهد بود.آیا اون موقع برای گرفتن پذیرش و fund TA or RA دیر نیست؟بهتره کی اقدام کنم؟
چون گفتن پیغام تشکر نفرستیم پیشاپیش از راهنماییهاتون ممنونم.

خیر دیر نیست
اکثر بچه هایی که واسه fall 2008 دارن اقدام میکنن (از جمله خودم) همین آبان امسال GRE دادیم. اکثر دانشگاهها برای درنظر گرفتن شما برای financial support حداقل تا ژانویه بهتون مهلت فرستادن مدارک رو میدن (بعضی ها حتی تا April ).

اینطور که از عنوان معلوم هست شما برای fall 2009 می‌خواهید پذیرش بگیرید. پس آبان 87 دیر نیست. در ضمن در موارد استثنا هم دیده شده که اگر استاد خیلی طالب دانشجو باشد GRE را هم ممکن هست حذف کند که اینش دیگر کاملا به شما و آن استاد برمی‌گردد. این را هم اضافه کنید که تعداد معدودی دانشگاه یا برخی از رشته‌های بعضی دانشگاهها اصولا GRE نمی‌خواهند که این را هم بسته به رشته‌ی تحصیلی‌تان باید جستجو کنید.

fall مگه پاییز نیست؟یعنی کسی که برای fall اقدام می کنه برای پذیرش ترمش از کی شروع میشه؟بهمن یا تابستان؟
