اخیرا از یکی از اساتید دانشگاه آمریکاIOWA state university پاسخ زیر رو دریافت کردم...

لطفا دوستان نظرشون رو بگن که این جواب، جواب خوبی هست؟ بعد من دنبال پذیرش برای پاییز 2013 بودم و این استاده گفته بهار. مدارکم هیچی آماده نیست. نه زبان نه جی آر ای. و اصلا نمیدونم ترم بهار چطوریه؟ در مورد فاند هم باید ازش بپرسم. اگه میشه راهنمایی کنید منو.

اين استاد دانشجو نياز داره و كار شما باهاش منطبقه تنها چيزي كه فعلا سد راهشه اينه كه شما آفيشيال پذيرش بگيري و باهاش مشغول به كار شي. از فاند حرفي نزده و بعيد ميدونم كه اگر هم داشته تا قبل از روئت مداركت نظري بده. با ايميل ازش بپرس شما فاند براي بهار داري يا نه. چون اصولا فاند پاييز تعلق ميگيره. صريح باش و اميدوارم نتيجه بگيري. شادزي

Never ever introduce yourself in a formal letter by writing down sentences like I am xxxxx or this is xxx(this way of introducing yourself is only used in phone calls) you have to introduce yourself by writing down your name at the end of the letter in the form of your signature

. And one more thing you have misspelt thoroughly.In addition I am not quite certain whether you have used the phrasal verb ' expand upon' appropriately since as far as I am concerned it means to add explanation to sth you have just mentioned. You might wanna check that in dictionary!

با اجازه اگر من یک نکته کلی عرض کنم: ایراد اصلی همه نامه هایی که ما ایرانیها (و همینطور هندیها و بقیه ملتهای منطقه ما) میفرستیم اینه که هدف اصلی نامه رو آخرش میگیم! اروپائیها و امریکائیها کلا برعکس عمل میکنند. اول نامه تصریح میکنند چی میخوان و بعد در بقیه نامه جزئیات رو شرح میدن.

با اجازه اگر من یک نکته کلی عرض کنم: ایراد اصلی همه نامه هایی که ما ایرانیها (و همینطور هندیها و بقیه ملتهای منطقه ما) میفرستیم اینه که هدف اصلی نامه رو آخرش میگیم! اروپائیها و امریکائیها کلا برعکس عمل میکنند. اول نامه تصریح میکنند چی میخوان و بعد در بقیه نامه جزئیات رو شرح میدن.

نامه شما اول از همه باید بگه:
I am applying for the Master's program in Electrical Engineering at the university of xxxx and I wanted to know if there is any opportunity for research assistantship in your group. The following is a brief description of my background. my complete CV is attached....

این کاملا درست و به جا بود. همین طور که ghlobe فرمودند، توی نگارش انگلیسی (آمریکایی ها و انگلیسی ها) معمول است که اول مهمترین مطلب رو می گویند، بعد توضیح اش می دهند. توی سیستم نگارش ما و خیلی جاهای دیگر، مثل هندی ها و فکر کنم چینی ها، اول توضیح می دهیم و بعد حرف اصلی رو می گوییم. این تفاوت بین روش نوشتن هاست و باید رعایت کنیم، چون آن استاد اول چشمش دنبال حرف اصلی می گردد، و باید آن را جلوی چشمش گذاشت. به این روش top-down می گویند، که به معنای کلی یعنی از مهم ترین مطلب شروع کنید و به شرح برسید. توی خود نامه، و در تمام پاراگراف ها این را باید رعایت کرد.
