A fully funded 3-year PhD position is available from September 1st 2013 at the Department of Language and Communication, University of Southern Denmark.
The Ph.D. project aims at contributing to research on identification and/or intervention of language and communication disorders in bilingual children. The project can employ qualitative or quantitative methodologies depending on the research questions that are asked but projects with a mixed methods approach are preferred. The main informants for the investigation are bilingual children with primary language and communication impairments (e.g. SLI), but bilingual children without impairments can be considered for comparison. Field work may be done in bilingual children’s homes, daycare institutions, and/or speech pathology clinics. Applicants preferably have knowledge of or are willing to acquire knowledge of immigrant language(s), apart from Danish.
