I spring over the spring with the spring in the spring
I spring over the spring with the spring in the spring
“I find the great thing in this world is not so much where we stand, as in what direction we are moving"
In practice neither is really inappropriate, But I personally still prefer the first structure, However English speakers aren't careful to make the distinction between this future mental state versus a current mental state, as the main concern using these two close but different structures. "Interested to" refers to a current mental state whereas "interested in" usually is used to describe future states. however I found a piece of information and copied here which may also interest you, It could be understood that in this occasion although both structure are applicable, the first proposal is roughly more common in a current "learning environment" or conversation state.
'' Interested to'' is less common that ''interested in'' in British English but is used when talking about something that is learned or experienced.
''I shall be interested to know how the wedding goes off.''
The verbs most often used with interested to are those that relate to knowledge and the senses, and include learn, read, see, hear, touch, feel and smell:
- ''I was interested to hear that you've changed your job.''
- ''You'll be interested to smell the difference between the spice mixtures.''
In both these case, the meaning conveyed is slightly different to what would be meant if ''interested in'' was used with the -ing form of the verb. It's the fact that you've changed your job that interests me, not the process of learning you've done so - and I want you to be interested in the difference between the aromas of the spice mixtures, not necessarily in the experience of sniffing the samples.
Michael Swan's Practical English Usage (Oxford University Press, 2005) points out that the two forms are interchangeable when talking about the wish to learn something:
- ''I'm interested in finding out/to find out what she did with all that money.''
“I find the great thing in this world is not so much where we stand, as in what direction we are moving"
