PhD position (Doktorandtjänst) in Electronic Devices - High-speed digital-to-analog converters (DACs) in CMOS technology

Objective
To conduct research within the field of design and implementation of hardware-efficient algorithms and hardware in mixed-signal integrated analog and digital circuits for high-speed electronics. The research will be focused on design and implementation of high-resolution, ultra high frequency digital-to-analog converters (DACs) in standard digital CMOS processes for integration in system-on-chips.

Research Environment
The research work will be performed at Division of Electronic Devices (http://www.ek.isy.liu.se/), which is an internationally recognized research group, with over 30 years of experience in design of advanced integrated circuits. The division has close collaboration with major semiconductor companies and academic research organizations worldwide.
Qualifications
General requirement: M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering.
Specific requirements: The applicant is expected to have a strong background and great interest in design of analog and digital integrated circuits in advanced CMOS technologies. In addition, the challenging nature of the project requires high creativity, independence, and excellent skills in communication and team work.
Appointment time
The appointment is given for one year at a time, and will be renewed yearly subject to successfull performance of duties. The programme corresponds to four years of full-time studoes. Normally, the studies are combined with 20% tutorial teching, wich gives a period of emplyment of five years. Total period of emplyment cannot exceed eight years.
Starting date
By agreement.
Salary
The commencing for a graduate student is at present 25 000 SEK/month. The subsequent salarey will be based on locally agreed salary increments.
